We are pleased to announce the PESC October 2026 Data Summit, taking place October 28–29, 2026, in Old Town Scottsdale, Arizona. Registration and the Call for Sessions are now open. The two-day event will bring together leaders and practitioners from across the education data community under the theme From Interoperability to Intelligence.

Interoperability has long been at the heart of PESC’s work, creating the standards and connections that allow trusted data to move across systems, institutions, and organizations. Today, that foundation is opening the door to new possibilities.

As AI, automation, digital credentials, and other technologies reshape education, the opportunity is no longer simply to exchange trusted data, but to make better use of it. This fall, the PESC community will come together in Scottsdale to explore how the standards and connections already in place can create greater value for learners, institutions, and the education ecosystem as a whole.

Call for Sessions Now Open

PESC is now accepting session proposals for the October Data Summit, and we invite members of the education data community to help build the program.

We are looking for sessions that reflect the Summit theme, From Interoperability to Intelligence. Sessions may explore the standards and connections that enable trusted data exchange, as well as emerging technologies, strategies, and practices that help institutions put connected data to work.

We welcome dynamic, informative, in-person sessions that share expertise, practical experience, emerging ideas, and the challenges shaping education data today. Suggested topics include:

• Open Standards and Standards Alignment: Advancing interoperability and creating stronger connections across systems and organizations
• Emerging Technologies: AI, automation, and new approaches to using trusted, connected data
• The Future of Work and Education: Digital credentials, LERs, CLRs, skills data, and evolving connections between learning and employment
• Privacy, Security, and Compliance: Building the trust and safeguards necessary for responsible data exchange and use
• Institutional and Policy Perspectives: Strategies, decisions, and policies shaping how education data is managed and used
• Trends and Future-Focused Topics: New ideas and approaches that could influence what comes next for education data

We encourage submissions from higher education professionals, education technology providers, data experts and analysts, policymakers, researchers, and others with perspectives to contribute to the conversation.

If you have a project or case study to share, lessons learned from an implementation, or a challenge the community should be discussing, we want to hear from you. We also welcome new ideas that could lead to meaningful conversations.

Session proposals are due Friday, September 18, 2026.

Registration Is Open for the October 2026 Data Summit
